Project Overview

Project Overview

  • Electrical Infrastructure replacements for the campus

  • Ryan was the prime contractor and electrical contractor
  • Preparation of site – performed  all project excavation, grading, and trenching
  • Installation of owner supplied switches and corresponding duct, cable, and terminations for provided switches in various locations throughout campus
  • Performed concrete flatwork and installed concrete and masonry walls
  • Maintained safety and control of locations at high traffic areas

Metropolitan Washington Airport Authority, Chantilly, VA

     Dulles Stallion Branch Sanitary Trunk Line Project

Project Overview

  • 3 miles of sanitary sewer force main, which included  one 4" and one 12" ductile iron pipe
  • Two associated lift stations
  • New electrical duct bank
  • The gravity sanitary sewer system was installed to reroute the sewer flow to the new Cub Run Lift Station
  • Completed in 2007

  • Construction of the new Cub Run Lift Station, a new Taxiway Q Booster Station, and valve vault
  • Installation of approximately 2.4 miles of electrical duct bank consisting of two 6" 6 way parallel duct banks;  49 precast electrical manholes and 28 sewer manholes; 
  • Installation of 34.5kV cable through the new duct and manhole system;

  • Installation of two 13.2 - 34.5kV transformers;  two 34.5kV circuits through the new duct bank system

    Campus Crescent Infrastructure Upgrade

US Army Corps of Engineers

     Exterior Electrical Distribution System Upgrade
     Lake City AAP, Missouri

Project Overview

  • Completion Date – October 1995

Ryan's Responsibilities
Phase A

  • Constructed (2) 69 kV /12.47 substations
  • Worked included site grading, foundations & electrical
  • Constructed 15 miles of new 15 kV overhead distribution lines
  • Constructed 10 miles of underground ductbank
  • Construction 8 backup power generation systems
  • Replaced (35) 5 kV load centers with new 15 kV equipment connected to industrial buildings
  • Installed 35 Automatic transfer switches and connected to existing industrial buildings.
  • Demolition of 10 miles of existing 5 kV OH distribution line
  • Demolition of existing 69 kV / 5 kV substation
  • New construction & conversion to new system was staged to keep Lake
  • City Army Ammunition fully operational during normal working hours

Phase B

  • Expanded (1) 69 kV / 12.47 kV substation
  • Including site grading, foundations, transformer, circuit breakers & busing
  • Installed 69 kV pilot wire relay between (2) substations
  • Installed 12 miles of 15 kV OH distribution lines

Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio

     McCracken Power plant Emissions Compliance Construction

Project Overview

  • The electrical work included the replacement of an existing 15kV OSU Substation, installation of a new 15kV McCracken Substation and installation of all associated feeders to the newly installed boilers in the existing boiler house
  • Completion Date – January 2007

Ryan's Responsibilities

  • OSU Substation: Renovations of existing substation including installation of new medium voltage switchgear on the North and South side of the substation, battery system, reactors, cable trays and lighting
  • McCracken Substation: Construction of new McCracken Substation including installation of Medium Voltage Switchgear and Motor Control Centers, battery system, variable frequency drives, electrical installation of new electrical generators and synchronizing cubicles, ground resistors, heat trace system, transformers, and cable trays
  • McCracken Powerhouse: Renovations to provide pow`er to new boilers including the installation of new 480V Substations, medium voltage feeders through existing tunnels and conduit chase, demolition and conduit relocations
