Project Overview

  • Construction of New 12 kV Switchgear Building including switchgear, cable vaults, incoming PG&E service conduits, manhole and interrupter switch, 12 kV loop feeder distribution control system and campus power monitoring system
  • Start Date – January 2105
  • Anticipated Completion Date – September 2016
  • 12 kV loop feeder distribution system comprised of four feeder loops as follows:
  • Feeder Loop 1- Feeds 26 facilities on West side of campus
  • Feeder Loop 2 – Feeds 17 facilities in the Central/ South sides of the campus
  • Feeder Loop 3 – Feeds 24 facilities on the North/East sides of the campus
  • Feeder Loop 4 – Feeds Central Plant and the new switchgear building on the North side of the campus
  • Building incoming low voltage service feeders, switchboards and power meters. Includes connecting the power meters to the local building IDF for connection to the new campus power monitoring system
  • Underground PG&E infrastructure between Cedar and Chestnut Avenues located on the North side of Barstow Avenue as part of the PG&E Rule 20 design project to underground the existing overhead 12 kV pole line as part of a street widening project to add a bicycle lane in the future
  • The design includes equipment pads on grade for transformers and capacitors

High Voltage Switch and Cable Replacement

Project Overview

  • Electrical Infrastructure replacements for the campus
  • Start Date – January 2010
  • Completion Date – October, 2010
  • Ryan was the prime contractor and electrical contractor
  • Preparation of site – performed all project excavation, grading, and trenching
  • Installation of owner supplied switches and corresponding duct, cable, and terminations for provided switches in various locations throughout campus
  • Performed concrete flatwork and installed concrete and masonry walls
  • Maintained safety and control of locations at high traffic areas

Campus Electric Capacity, Phase 2 (New Substation) Off Site Ductbank Package

Project Overview

  • Construction associated with transferring load from the existing OSU substation to the new West Campus substation
  • Provide the duct bank and manhole system for connection to the three circuit pairs and existing OSU Substation
  • Start Date – June 2011
  • Completion Date – June 2012
  • Construction of Duct bank and Manhole electrical distribution system

Project Overview

  • The electrical work included the replacement of an existing 15kV OSU Substation, installation of a new 15kV McCracken Substation and installation of all associated feeders to the newly installed boilers in the existing boiler house
  • Start Date – March 2004
  • Completion Date – December 2007
  • Location: Columbus, Ohio
  • OSU Substation: Renovations of existing substation including installation of new medium voltage switchgear on the North and South side of the substation, battery system, reactors, cable trays and lighting
  • McCracken Substation: Construction of new substation including installation of medium voltage switchgear and motor control centers, battery system, variable frequency drives, electrical installation of new electrical generators and synchronizing cubicles, ground resistors, heat trace system, transformers, and cable trays
  • McCracken Powerhouse: Renovations to provide power to new boilers including the installation of new 480V Substations, medium voltage feeders through existing tunnels and conduit chase, demolition and conduit relocations

East Mansfield Substation Project

Project Overview

  • Upgrades to substation
  • Start Date – January 2012
  • Completion Date – October 2012
  • Location: East Mansfield, Massachusetts
  • Ryan was the prime contractor and electrical contractor
  • Preparation of site – management of all project grading, trenching, boulder reduction
  • Furnished and installed electrical conduits and direct burial per plans
  • Installed owner supplied substation equipment & 15kV power cable
  • Furnished and install external connections to 24/32/40 MVA transformers and 15kV switchgear
  • Constructed a perimeter precast wall and transformer sound wall consisting of sound absorbing masonry units placed on a concrete foundation
  • Installed site drainage and landscaping

Project Overview

  • Mechanical and Electrical Infrastructure upgrades for the complete campus
  • Location: Monterey Bay, California
  • New hot water system to various buildings
  • Completion of the underground 15kV loop throughout the campus including medium voltage switchgear and transformers
  • Start Date – October 2006
  • Original Completion Date – September 29, 2007
  • Ryan was the prime contractor and electrical contractor
  • Preparation of site – performed all project grading, trenching and access roads
  • Furnished and installed all mechanical and electrical infrastructure upgrades
